Revisiting The Greenbrier

Spring (and possibly summer) are officially in full swing here in Charleston.  With all of the bright colors and floral prints everywhere (that I’m so happy to finally start wearing), I wanted to take a look back at the trip I made to the Greenbrier in West Virginia. There was a post very early on that I did – back when I was restricted to particular image sizes and had just started taking pictures in general- that always reminds me of the coming of summer.

The Greenbrier is located in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.  I was home visiting my parents in Virginia and just decided one morning we should drive up and take pictures inside this amazing hotel.  It is only about two hours from my house, and having spent 11 summers at an all girls camp down the road, I kind of “grew up” visiting it.

Anyway, I simply wanted to revisit this unbelievable hotel and it’s interior decor (thanks Dorothy Draper).

If you want to listen to the original music I had with it, you can click HERE.

Happy almost summer everyone.

Annabel Lee

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

 I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-

And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Ch-Ch-Changes

As you can probably see,  the website has changed a little. Yipee! I wanted to clean things up for you. Hopefully, now you can find things a little bit easier…

All of the street styles, my outfits, and more are in the Stylebook. Bigger photo shoots are in the Scrapbook. And because I like to draw, there’s a new Sketchbook.

I created some new categories so that if you like interviews you can see them ALL under the “Peoples” section. If you just like fashion, you can stick to the “Styles”, music to the “Beats” and so on.

I hope you heart the new changes as much as I do.

Try it out, explore, look around.

I hope you like it!
